Deleting your account
You can delete your Ember account at any time. This page says how, what is deleted, and what we keep and why. How we use your data in general is in the Privacy Policy. If the Romanian and English versions differ, the Romanian version prevails.
1. In the app (the easiest way)
Open Ember and go to You → Account → “Delete account”. The account and its data are deleted immediately. There is nothing else to do in the app.
2. Without the app
If you no longer have the app or can’t sign in, write to us at privacy@ember-si.com from the email address of the Apple or Google account you used in Ember, with the subject “Account deletion”. We delete the account within 30 days. We may ask you for a confirmation from that same address, to make sure the request is yours.
3. What is deleted
- your account and profile;
- conversations and messages, including photos sent in chat;
- Ember’s memory and “soul”;
- notes, goals, tasks and the journal;
- credits and invite codes;
- usage counters.
4. What we keep and why
- Payment and subscription records, as long as the law requires (accounting, up to 10 years under Romanian law);
- aggregated, anonymised cost and usage statistics, which can no longer be linked to you;
- server logs, for at most 30 days;
- reports of abusive AI answers, for at most 12 months, no longer linked to your account.
5. Your subscription is cancelled separately
Deleting the account does not cancel a subscription bought through the App Store, Google Play or on the web (through Stripe). Cancel it yourself, in that store or in your account on the website; otherwise the payments continue.
6. Temporary accounts
A temporary account (without Apple or Google) can be deleted only from the app. If it goes unused for 12 months, it is deleted automatically.
